I bought this to review for the Principal 068 TEXES exam, just in case there were any legal/law questions on the exam. I did not need this for the exam at all, but I still found it to be a great resource. I like that it covers the laws and goes into depth about the how and why some have come to be the way that they are here in TX.

this was the text for my educational law class. you would think a text such as this would be dry and boring, but FALSE! interesting and well written for a student studying the content area. i learned so much reading this book.

I bought this book for a graduate law class, and it is wonderful! It provides a very clear, detailed analysis of Texas court cases pertaining to education on a wide variety of issues from prayer in schools to dress codes to discipline. We read the book cover to cover, but I feel this is more of an easy reference guide Out of all of the books I purchased for grad school, this will be the most valuable and helpful for when I become a principal.

Not the most exciting read, but very informative. Every parent in Texas should take an interest.

I barely had it for a week before pages began falling out and had to carefully use my epoxy glue to put it back together. soon as i glue one section back in another falls out.

So you sort of need this to run a campaign but I didn't get through 10 pages before it started falling apart.

The content is great but the binding is terrible.

The contents of the book are great and add flavor to the setting, however the book itself broke within a minute of my opening, I have attempted to fix this with hot-glue, but once one page is fixed, another falls out. If you have a laser printer, save yourself the cost and print out the pdfs.

Fun book, lots of great gizmo's. I love the ads that are placed throughout for the products. I also like the new rules that were added. Sometimes a bit hard to find what you're looking for. The main reason for the 3 stars though is that the binding is coming undone. I haven't overrused the book, and my players reference it only periodically and yet the pages from the front have come unglued.

I really like this book mostly because it is comprehensive, covering nearly every money subject except budgeting. I believe there are enough budgeting books out there already. But if you want to see what the Bible has to say about money from nearly every angle, this book has it covered. I'm not sure I agree with every conclusion Randy comes to about giving, but you won't come away with the same perspective on money in general after reading it. I finished it a month ago and am still contemplating every day about how I should honor God with what money He has given me. I would say this a great complement to the books written by Larry Burkett and Ron Blue.I have led three Sunday School series on money, have been certified as a money counselor in our church and still came away with many new ideas after reading this book. I am recommending it to many of my friends. Now I'm ready to create a whole new Sunday School series based on this book.

Randy Alcorn does a most excellent work in successfully communicating many of the intangibles around the proper handling of money and possessions for the Christian, in light of eternity. Eternity is key to every concise argument made - it's a matter of "a right perspective - an eternal perspective." He is clearly gifted with keen insight and skill in helping each of us carefully evaluate our potential for mindless routine behavior, devoid of biblical expectations.Of the vast material read over the last year, this book has had the greatest impact upon me from a behavioral standpoint. There are many things we read that might change our thinking, or impact our attitude about a given matter. However, there are few writings, apart from the Bible with the latent potential to impact behavior to the degree of this book. The message has everything to do with how we handle the financial resources, talent, time, and any other area of life for which we are considered stewards. Unfortunately, much of the Christian life is lived incongruent to so much of what we say we believe. Is it no wonder so many of us have lost our Christian witness before a waiting and watching world. Our actions speak louder than our words. In most cases, the surrounding culture has much greater influence upon us to accept their lifestyles as the norm, rather than the church influencing the surrounding culture.Indeed, how we handle money says much about our character toward people and toward our King - Jesus. As noted in the text by Richard Halverson, "...Money is an exact index to a man's character." To this end, Alcorn categorically defines and addresses each and every area of stewardship in the life of a Christian and offers the appropriate biblical support for each.Alcorn carefully defines the destructive nature of materialism in the American culture and within the modern-day church. Both spectrums, from asceticism to materialism are dangerous in the life of the Christian. The instruction to the reader is addressed from the proper perspective of a steward who owns nothing but is working on behalf of the true owner. The steward is entrusted with all that he has and must eventually give an account for his actions - whether wise, or unwise. Alcorn's approach is to help the reader better understand the spirit of the text in that it's not just about the money. The product (Scripture would suggest fruit; Matt. 7:16; John 15:1-8) of the Christian's life is the result or consequence of a relationship with someone (viz., Jesus Christ) and His ultimate authority and kingship in the lives of His faithful servants. Essentially, all people everywhere have a couple of options or motivations for serving one of two masters; Jesus Christ, or the common coin. There are consequential destinations and rewards for each which must be reconciled.Alcorn's portrayal of the Christian as a pilgrim is also a fitting and meaningful analogy in that his thinking suggests we are not to sink our roots to deeply in this earthly soil as it only further complicates the process of up-rooting and moving on. Yet, this is our default tendency - to settle-in and make this world our home. The proper mindset of a pilgrim is critical to the overall success of the mission of the individual, family, and church.Additional attention is given to a myriad of issues including lifestyle, missions, retirement, insurance, and a litany of other areas impacted by our attitude toward money, possessions, and one's perspective upon eternity.As previously mentioned, few books have been as convincing to the point of behavioral modification. I like this book I read it one hour each day for four weeks. The other can be a little long-winded he repeats a lot of his points but overall good book. One thing I liked about the book is he sites all of his biblical references anytime he brings up something from the Bible he includes the verse right next to it so you're not having to wonder does the Bible really say that? I thought this book was going to be a bunch of propaganda and guilt you into giving more to your church but it turns out it wasn't like that at all. This is the most exhaustive and complete book that I have ever found on what the Bible says about money. It is not necessarily an easy read at 520 pages long. But, if you want a great understanding of what the Bible says about money, this book is for you. I agree with most of what Alcorn says, but there are a few points of disagreement that I have with him, mainly in the area of insurance. While it is admirable to want the church to care for those in great need, that is just not the reality of the world we live in. Sin has created an environment where things don't work as God intended, and death is a reality. We have a high responsibility to care for our families, and it seems to me that a prudent amount of insurance is an important part of this provision.I love many of the quotes and stories that Randy shares, and I have quoted him several times in my own book about what the Bible says about money. Financial Faithfulness: Unlocking Scripture to Avoid the Distraction of MoneyChristians struggle mightily to handle money according to the principles laid out in Scripture. Thus, this is an important book to read and then to keep on your shelf as a reference to refer back to.

Randy Alcorn challenges to think through what our possessions mean to us. He is ardent but not sanctimonious. I was interested in what he had to say even when I strongly disagreed with it (e. g., rewards in heaven). Book number three in the "My Boyfriend is a Monster" series falls short on a few accounts and I say this as a person who normally loves most things vampire.First the vampires while having horrible potential end up rather mundane and the title of the book, "My Boyfriend Bites," is misleading because Jean-Paul McClellan is not one of them and he'll tell you so without a moment's hesitation.The main female character, Vanessa Shingle, is still very well developed and strong, her BFF is also a strong young man, but her backstory, her "destiny" if you will seems like a rehash of several TV shows, movies, and books over the decades.The main plot is shaken and not fully addressed though it is touched upon in the "Queries" section that has ended each of these books -- who is the focus on this mysterious anti-vampire group, wasn't it supposed to be our main girl but then it... don't want to spoil the plot.The drawing style is the same and the storyteller is very similar so if you enjoyed books one and two in the series you'll probably like this one just not as much.

My boyfriend is a monster, is a cute manga-sized comic about a 17 year old girl who discovers she is secretly a vampire slayer and who falls in love with a 18 yo boy who is a werebat. The art in this book is really amazing, and while the story is implausible and somewhat cliché, the art makes it all worthwhile. There are so many cool details that the artist puts in different scenes (such as the odd animals people walk on leashes down the street), the cactus at the foot of the children's slide, and the billboards and store names just amusing touches you can find if you look close. The writing is also clever, as the main protagonist has a desire to `fix' her boyfriends and this has not worked out so well for her in the past.And wow, did I mention the art? After reading a lot of comics, I've seen a lot of bad pencils, and these are just really great. I think if Anita Blake's series had pencils like these, the book would not have been cancelled. The artist also can draw faces, and bodies, and make them attractive, which seems to be a challenge for a lot of western artists. I thought the boyfriend Jean Paul character was particularly cute, and somewhat different being blonde with dark sideburns.There isn't anything bad in this story, and this is suitable for teens and mature young adults/adults who like Buffy and supernatural.

It has an ok story line. I don't think the female main character was trying to "fix" people, it's more like she's trying to help, but she doesn't know how to do it and that's why people think she is trying to change who they're (in a way she is tho Lol). The male main character is gorgeous, he looks better that anyone else in the whole book, like wow, but I feel like the readers don't get to know who he's. The main side character (the female main character's friend) is adorable! He's gorgeous in a cute kinda way, both physically, and psychologically. Tho we don't get to know a lot about him, we can get an idea of what type of person he is, (I love him).

Vanessa Shingle has a problem. When it comes to guys she has a habit of dating the fixer-uppers. Meeting up with the hottie janitor who should be doing something far less mundane seems like nice start to her latest fix-a-boyfriend adventure. But in this little New Mexico town there's something far more problematic going on. Vampires are running amock and they seem to want a taste of Vanessa. When her new project starts seeming like maybe his biggest problem has nothing to do with his custodial profession the stakes will be high. Jean-Paul might not be the only one who needs to rise to their potential and it's up to Vanessa to live up to the family name.While I definitely enjoyed My Boyfriend Is a Monster 1: I Love Him to Pieces and would recommend it first My Boyfriend Bites edged it out by just a little bit. Honestly, I wasn't expecting any originality in this one and Jolley managed to really surprise me with the twists and turns of this one's plot. Unlike Dicey and Bethany, Vanessa wasn't an athlete. She's very smart save for her taste in guys and I found her to be the most relatable of the four girls in the series.The art here is decidedly more traditional, less manga-esque. If you like Marvel's Runaways Martinez's style would suit that series very well in my opinion. I really liked the renderings of both Vanessa and Jean-Paul. What can I say? They're just pretty and if that doesn't appeal to the targeted audience I'll be surprised.My Boyfriend Bites is a quick and entertaining read with some interesting ideas. If you liked I Love Him to Pieces but hated Made For Each Other you should give this one a try. If you're new to the series you can start with this one if you're into vampires since each stands alone. Enjoy!**ARC received via NetGalley.

About the Author

Genevieve Jolliffe met Chris Jones at film school and the two went into independent filmmaking through their production company, Living Spirit Pictures. She directed their third film together, Urban Ghost Story, in 1998. After moving to Los Angeles, Genevieve was a major force in pulling together the US edition of The Guerilla Film Makers Handbook, and she also co-authored The Documentary Film Makers Handbook in 2006. With her husband and screenwriting partner Andrew Zinnes, she has sold projects to Warner Bros and has two indie features set to be filmed in 2010.Andrew Zinnes has worked in development at Paramount Pictures and at USA Networks. He left to become a script analyst, and worked for Morgan Creek Productions, Artisan and several script analyst companies. Using his documentary filmmaking experience, Andrew was the perfect co-author for The Documentary Film Makers Handbook. He has taught documentary at the NY Film Academy and has lectured on filmmaking at schools and colleges around the US. He is a founding partner of the film company Crazee Pictures.

This is not a bad book, but it has a lot of mistakes. Also, just fyi, the cert has changed and it now 640-461 so this book is not an exact match to the test. It will however teach you the basics and if you use other sources as well for the 461 exam you will pass easily.

This guide is for the previous exam.This book is great as a reference, but just not for passing the current CCNA Voice.

Great book for studying for the CCNA Voice certification. I chose this one because it's the newest book available and I've used Sybex to get my my CCNA. The coverage of the CUCM Express and Unity Express is very thorough. You really don't need to bother buying hardware to practice on because it clearly steps through the setup process. The CD has a test engine and flash cards that are nice for final certification cramming.

Excellent book for someone looking to get their CERT for VOIP.Clearly details step by step instructions and subject material.This could be called the Idiots guide to VOIP.Have used other books and they were not as concise and hard to read.Passed my test the 2nd time using this book to study!Thanks for a great product!

Berlin is a very fascinating city andoffering great history. this book is a great guide for you to know when and where to go in Berlin andother 2 cities introduced into this book.

No very good guide ,don't have enough pictures and tips I do not recommend . Is much better paid a little more money an get a good guide

The stats for this book series indicate they are 200 pgs long. Since it took me, at max, maybe 2 hrs to get through them, there was obviously something other than narrative filling up the pages. Books did contain some nice photos, but they don't sufficiently offset the paucity of information. For example, in discussing Berlin's museums, the author highlighted 4; ditto for hotels in Berlin. So much for useful travel insights re Berlin. The info about Budapest was similarly pathetic. Re Prague, the info seemed a bit more expansive - but my perception may be due to the fact that it was the city with which I was least familiar. I did get to read this series as a freebie through the Kindle Unlimited program, so I can't complain about buyer's remorse - but free or not, I do feel my reading time could have been better spent reading something more substantial. My 2-star rating is due to the pics.
