Henri Nouwen is a profound writer on the spiritual life. In this book he narrates through journal excerpts the transitional year between being a professor at Harvard Divinity School and being a priest and caregiver with the handicapped at Daybreak I in Toronto. Under the tutelage of Jean Vanier, Pére Thomas, and the L'Arche Community in France, he explores discernment and call, prayer and solitude, friendship and community, sexuality and chastity, ability and disability. The genesis of at least four other books he wrote—Return of the Prodigal Son, In the Name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership, Behold the Beauty of the Lord: Praying With Icons, and Adam: God's Beloved—are found in this book. Nouwen's transparency and the sharp contrasting of human weakness with the spiritual resources of the Christian faith will stir any reader to deeper reflection.

Nouwen spent his last ten years living with people with profound developmental disabilities at the Daybreak community in Canada. The Road to Daybreak is his diary of the year prior to that period. The epilogue of the book, however, is written at the end of his first year in the community. It illustrates the great gift of this Catholic priest: his ability to confess his weaknesses openly. He notes his despairs in joining a handicapped community and discovering the depth of his own handicaps. He was inept at the many practical details of living as a family, having lived an academic life in which others took care of such things as laundry, cooking, and cleaning. He was also unskilled at living intimately in community with others. He was embarrassed to discover his need for others to give him his sense of worth. It is healing to read someone openly clear about his despairs.

What a wonderful and enlightening journey! Henri describes his darkest yet most enlightening revelations as he enters into the world of complete dependence upon Jesus, and absolute surrender to the live within the Daybreak community. As a worship leader within a special needs community I can relate to all his experiences. Thank you, Henri, for sharing!

I found this book to be inspirational talk provoking and very interesting . It inspired me to sit down and start riding a spiritual the spiritual journey I've been traveling for the last eight years . I have been looking for the road to God to the perfect spiritual union with God through prayer and helping others . This book will help me to do those things as well as to write my own spiritual journey thank you .

This is one of the very good journals that Nouwen wrote. I recommend this. Here he gives us the journey from Harvard and the prestige he had teaching at that divinity school to this home in Toronto for challenged people with no fame and no notoriety. For Nouwen this was the journal for going home.

This is one of the best Nouwen books I've read. I would recommend it to anybody who is making a life decision.

This has been a great book to read to help me center my day. I am a big Henri Nouwen fan and this is one of my favorite books of his.

I took and passed the 70-698 today. I don't work in an enterprise environment and this is the only book I purchased for the exam, but I spent a LOT of time digging deeper into topics on my own and using Hyper-V to get hands-on.The only errors I noticed were in the NTFS permissions area of the book: The end-of-chapter quiz answers did not match up with material in the chapter. (mostly pertaining to the modify permission) I just ignored that part, studied permissions elsewhere, and moved on.Found it to be generally informative and well laid out. The quizzes at the end of the chapters were helpful and the Q&A sections are well written so that I learned more from my incorrect answers than I did the answers I got right the first time through.The online material is certainly worth checking out, at least it was for me.You can setup flashcards, quizzes, and practice tests. Don't expect a lot of variety here, but use them as intended. Start with the flashcards to help saturate your brain and figure where you need to focus. The online practice quizzes are straight up from the end-of-chapter quizzes, so kinda bleh, but good review. Save the online practice tests for when you think you are close and use them to identify any weak areas. I learned a lot here.While the online material really helped me learn and identify where my knowledge was lacking, not as much as I expected was on the actual exam. But seriously, who can predict what you are going to face at the exam? (I was expecting subnetting-related questions but did not encounter one)I think this would be very helpful to someone looking to pass the exam, but don't rely on it entirely. Be sure to take the author's advice and learn how to do things Powershell-style.I can say without a doubt it was a worthy purchase.

Well written and good instruction, but it says it has online flashcards, quizzes, and videos...When I log in to wiley.com, and use the pass code from the book, I really can't describe how lame it is.It is 100 random flashcards. And it will let you write your own quiz questions. That's it.....I am starting to think the video was transferred to youtube, but the authors page just has 20 random videos....I think the videos are about a variety of subjects, but the titles are too general to be sure.Labeling each video for this book with 70-698 or Windows 10 would make my studying much easier.I am fine with the videos being on youtube, but that is not where the book says to access them and they need to be organized.

Passed the exam but the book doesn't cover it all. However, it's the best one out there for this exam. Sign up for the test banks (on the last page of the book) and take the tests over and over until you're scoring 100%. Also visit the Microsoft Virtual Academy and watch the "Preparing for Exam 70-698" course. Finally, if there is a Microsoft Technology Center near you, look for the free "Planning and Deploying Windows 10 in the Enterprise" event and you can get a free full day of training direct from Microsoft. It took me five months to study and pass this exam.

I say this is a good cursory overview of the exam. I studied less than 10 hours. I did not take the practice exams in this book (I used mesureup) but I did find this a helpful resource. The end of chapter reviews are helpful.This book is good at hitting the facts you need to know - slmgr.vbs and its command switches, powershell commands, upgrade paths and options (hint hint).

Took and passed the exam but this book only helped a little. There were quite a few questions that it didn't cover at all.

Great material. Im also going through his StormWind training series and William is a great author and instructor. Planning to take the exam in about 8 weeks and I'm very confident in my ability to pass with this material.
