When I am out stalking the wild vegitation of North Florida and South Georgia this is one of several books I put in my backpack. I agree with another reviewer that sometimes the flowers get lost in the photos but most of the time the plant structure and habitus provide useful information. What makes this book a great carry-along is that the plants are color-coded by their flowers. I recommend it highly.Matt Cohen

Walter Taylor's best book, no offense. This book includes plants you are most likely to see in the field. Note that some of the species scientific names have changed since this was published. Plants are arranged by flower color.

I received this book at the RAADFEST anti-aging conference in San Diego. It explained the science behind the potential benefits of umbilical stem cells. I think this is the best source of stem cells available in the US. I was presenting my experience treating patients with "young plasma" and after reading this book I think the umbilical stem cells will be a powerful addition to my anti-aging treatments. I'm a physician and use these treatments on myself and my patients at the Atlantis Clinic in Oldsmar (Tampa) Florida. I think using the cord blood stem cells and either infusing iv for general anti-aging or injecting into site for localized repair would be effective-especially if given in conjunction with young plasma.

I read this book cover-to-cover in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I happen to know that the embryonic stem cell "debate" is primarily a patenting and thus monetary issue, and not at all about what is best for mankind. If this book hadn't come about, most people would not now know about this "free" and fabulous source of regenerative medicine and healing. Drs Steenblock and Payne have done their research, their legwork, and their homework - even in the face of opposition (greed and ignorance have a tendency to cause that). I hope this is just the first in a series of books from Steenblock on regenerative therapies that lead to genuine healing for our very sick world. I received this book as a gift and once I began reading it, could not put it down. So many science books are "ho hum" -- difficult to wrap your brain around. Not this baby. I found this introductory book on cord blood stem cells and therapy remarkably easy to take in, digest and remember. The patient histories are compelling and the writing is logically structured and actually beautiful. I wish my college science profs could have communicated hard topics as easily as Drs. Steenblock and Payne do. Reminds me in some ways of Carl Sagan's writing. I highly recommend that anyone wanting to know more about stem cells - especially cord blood stem cells -- get this book.

Don't pay any heed to the naysayers. This book gives a good lay level introduction to an emerging field. So far as I can tell, neither Dr. Steenblock or Dr. Payne claim to be stem cell experts, just observers & writers sharing information and true life patient case histories of patients treated by Dr. Fernando Ramirez as part of his Mexican government sanctioned stem cell program. Dr. Payne, BTW, has a doctorate in nutritional medicine from an accredited program in the Philippines and has had some of his work published in such peer reviewed journals as Medical Hypotheses and Science. A simple Medline search would turn up some of these papers and professional letters.

This book delivers! It is concise, easy-to-understand, and presents things with a balance of science, passion and compassion. I like the fact that this isn't a "do this and you'll see miracles" book, like so many health books these days. There is great promise in cord blood stem cell therapy, but the authors are careful to make it clear that their findings are tentative and need to be formally evaluated via clinical trials. I hope there is a 2nd edition coming with more patient stories and updates on the science behind all this.

It is 6:13 AM I haven't been to bed yet I have to finish reading lady renegade awesome book awesome but I'm not surprised because Elizabeth Rose is one of the best authors I will say I had to go back and purchase the rest of the books I had to. She is by far one of my favorites I've got so many of her books are used to say I can read faster than you can write but it's 73 I'm not so sure your guys are going I don't care if I have to get a magnifying glass I just have to read the books and she's one of the best if you haven't really never looked yet please do so you will not be disappointed

I have enjoyed the first two books and am eager to read the next story in the Legacy of the Blade series. Ms. Rose is an exceptional story teller. Her imagery leaps off the page (or e-reader screen) and instantly grabs the reader. Well-developed characters and adventure will keep you engaged until the very end and longing to read the next book. There were a few misused than instead of then that had me wincing. A couple of anachronistic words and phrases seemed to zap me back to the present but I was delighted to immerse myself in 14th Century Scotland.

A very entertaining story! This is a story that takes place in medieval times and has everything in it to make a good book. It mostly centers around Lady Wrenwho meets Storm while on the way to her baby's father. There is a battle where her English escort causes her to go blind. Nine years later Lady Wren and Storm meet again. There is love, action, light hearted fun, kindness, and some cruelty. Lady Wren is also known as "the Renegade" and has an unusual love and bonding with animals. Storm is known as someone who no one can beat. This is really a very good book, one that I have throughly enjoyed. This book stands completely on its own but there is a third book that tells a further story of some of the characters in this book.

Another great book to go with the Mad MacKeefe clan books of Onyx, Aidan, and Ian. Storm MacKeefe is estranged from his clan after a violent confrontation between them and a group of English soldiers escoring a young English girl and her baby to King David who is supposedly his father. Wren has been raped by King David of Scotland and when she delivers him a son she is being brought to him when a violent confrontation occurs that causes her to become blind and flee into the woods with her baby to fend for herself.Years later Storm is making his living in competitions and wagers and he is tricked into agreeing to bring in the leader of a band of renegades not knowing that it is Wren.

Honor and love, murder and mayhem, trust and loyalty, these are a few of the emotions that come forth in this story. A young Scottish lad, just coming into manhood, is disowned by his father for refusing to kill wantonly. Nine years later he is offered a bag of gold, by the Earl, for bringing the leader of the Renegades to him. Now the story of mystery, trust and love begins. To find out how the story unfolds, well...you'll just have to read it. There are surprises and twists in the story that you will never expect. This is a story clambering to be read by all who like romance, mystery and intrigue.

This is a story of Storm MacKeefe, also known as ‘The Highland Storm’ because of his legendary temper and Lady Wren, leader of The Renegades, a band of highland warriors. Tricked into accepting the wager, Storm is on the search for the Renegades and their leader. What he doesn't know is that the leader is blind and uses her gift with animals negotiate the world around her.Once he comes face-to-face with the Renegades, he realizes that has crossed paths with Lady Wren before. Even more to his surprise, he still finds her intriguing. Can he look past to what he believes to be the truth or can Wren open his eyes to what could be his future?

To get to the point I thought this story was boring and drawn out and could not see where this undying love came from between the two main characters and I am not super critical, I kept coming up with things better to do than finish this story...
